Agricultura occupies a very prominent position in the economy of Sokoto Sate. It was estimated that over 80% of the population of the state are engaged in one form of farming or the other. It is, therefore, true that agriculture major source of employment in the state as such, an its significance in the economic development of the state cannot be over emphasized in view of the significant position of the Agriculture coupled with abundant minerals and other natural resources in the state.
